Children
Children are Important to Us!
We believe that every child that comes through our doors should have a safe, positive experience while at Cornerstone! Your child is a precious, unique individual and will be treated as such. We strive to make each child feel welcomed and cared for. We know that children have a wonderful capacity for learning about the amazing world in which we live and the wonderful God that created it. We are here to step along side of you and help your child learn about God, the Bible and Jesus Christ. All of our programs are designed to help this happen!

Special Needs
Our Special Needs area is a fun place to be! We offer classes on Wednesday evenings at 6:30 pm and on Sunday mornings at 9:45 am. We have committed volunteers that serve this very special group of children. If you have any questions about our program please contact Cathy Wright at cathy@cornerstoneshiloh.org For a photo tour of the path to our Special Needs Room please click here.
Safety
Our classrooms are set up with safety in mind. We monitor the hallway areas before, during and after service times to ensure that only parents or teachers are allowed into children’s areas. We currently use a two part tag system. This system ensures that only an approved person will be able to pick up your children. This system also allows us to reach you during worship times if your child should happen to need you. Our goal is for each parent and child to feel secure with our area. Having each child be officially signed in to their rooms is an additional safety feature.
Each one of our volunteers has been personally interviewed and passed a federal background check.
Age Appropriate, Creative Bible Teaching
Children are not just pint-sized adults. It is our goal to have lessons prepared specifically for their age. We have great volunteers that commit themselves to teaching the children in their care and at the same time, they make it fun! Whether it be through a craft, singing, games or story time, your child will hear truths about God in a way that they can understand. We love creating fun ways for children to learn about Jesus.
What can I expect during our first visit?
Our Children’s Ministry Counter is staffed with great volunteers that will greet you and answer any questions you may have. We have a simple, one page form that each family must fill out. The form includes basic information such as names, address, phone numbers etc. If your child has any allergies or medical issues that we need to be aware of, there is a space on the form for this. You will be given a self adhesive sticker for each child. Your child will have one portion of the tag placed on his or her back. The other part will be for you and will need to be shown when you pick up your child. During checkout, you will return to your child’s room and show your tag in order for your child to be released back to you. If we need to contact you during the service, your individual number will be flashed on the bottom of the screens in the Worship Center. It is greatly appreciated if you can mark your child’s name on any items brought with them, this includes sippy cups or bottles.
On your way home, be sure to ask your child: “Did you have fun?” and “What did you learn today?”
Nursing Mom’s Room
A private nursing mom’s room is available in our nursery area and a cry room is also available outside the back doors of the Worship Center. The connection team members or any staff will be happy to help you find either of these.
