Middle & High School

Middle and High School

Over 60% of Christians make the decision to follow Christ before the age of 16. Cornerstone Student Ministry is committed to showing students how a relationship with Christ fits into the real world. This is done intentionally through the lessons taught in the weekend Bible studies and also through the message delivered on Wednesday evenings during the Momentum Service. It is also lived out in the lives of the staff and volunteers that work with the student ministry.

Weekend Services

Grades 6-8 Bible Study on Sundays at 9:45 am
Grades 9-12 Bible Study on Sundays at 11 am

Wednesdays

Momentum Worship Service at 6:30 pm. This service includes a live band that is comprised of some of the students themselves. The message is geared directly towards what the students are experiencing in their every day lives.

Throughout the summer many special events are planned for Wednesday evenings.

Bible Bowl

Create friendships and learn the Bible. Cornerstone Bible Bowl meets Sunday at 4:00 pm and Thursday at 6:30 pm. Bible Bowl is a ministry for youth in grades 6 to 12 which combines Bible study with Christian competition and fellowship. The purpose is to give youth a firm foundation for their faith through the systematic study, memorization, and application of scripture. From October to May, local competition is held monthly. The season culminates with the National Bible Bowl Youth Conference held in late June or early July.

Some of what we do…

A big priority for us is equipping the students to make their faith their own. A part of that includes learning how to serve others. Throughout the year we have many opportunities for students, including summer camps, conferences, retreats and missions trips.

One of the highlights of the year for our Middle School students is the annual summer missions trip to Oblong Children’s Christian Home. Our students have the opportunity to spend a week of their summer working and serving other students. A huge variety of jobs are done each summer. They feel a great sense of accomplishment when they return from this trip.

Middle School students usually attend a Christ in Youth Believe conference during the school year as well. Believe is a 2-day high energy middle school intentional program that provides worship, small group community building, and teaching from God’s Word.

Senior High students are able to attend Christ in Youth Move. This is a week-long program designed to help students grow through daily devotional times, interactive discipleship groups and nightly worship celebrations, which include powerful, challenging messages from God’s Word. Students grow closer as a group of believers and cement their faith on these trips. Many students make decisions to dedicate their lives to full time ministry.

Another option for High School students is to attend a short-term missions trip to Mexico to build a home for a family with the ministry Casas Por Cristo. This trip allows students to experience a different culture and bless a family with a safe, warm, dry home that they may not have had any other way.
